Countdown to Launch (CTL) is a student-run science communication program within The Dean Daily. CTL creates educational media about NASA missions, space exploration, and aerospace technology. Students contribute through research, writing, video production, and on-camera presenting, gaining practical experience in science journalism and digital storytelling.
CTL’s mission is to make space exploration accessible while building professional skills for students interested in media, astronomy, or STEM communication. The organization welcomes new members and encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Harvard Undergraduate Aeronautics (HUAERO) is a student-run organization at Harvard College that seeks to be a home for all undergraduate aeronautics enthusiasts. AstroSoc is the society for undergraduate concentrators, secondaries, and underclassmen interested in engaging with astrophysics academically at Harvard. We work to build community in the astrophysics undergrad community by running a bunch of events, including weekly lunches, monthly pizza seminars with faculty, historical instrument tours, research work-sessions, and dark sky trips.

Harvard SEDS is a chapter of the national organization Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS). Harvard SEDS supports two undergraduate-led groups: the Harvard College Satellite Team (HST) and the Harvard College Rocket Propulsion Group (HRPG). The mission of the HST is to design, manufacture, and launch Harvard’s first satellite! The 2U CubeSat will test a novel way to deploy solar panels and is aimed to launch by 2024. The mission of the newly formed HRPG is to design, build, and test a flight-capable liquid bipropellant rocket engine in order to provide students with industry-relevant experience in engineering with aerospace applications.

The Student Astronomers at Harvard-Radcliffe (STAHR) is Harvard’s undergraduate astronomy club. It provides students the opportunity to engage in hands-on recreational astronomy. The club runs the Loomis-Michael Observatory atop the Harvard Science Center and teaches telescope courses there each semester. STAHR also regularly hosts dark sky trips, open house observing events, space-based movie nights, and more. In a virtual setting, STAHR plans to host an astronomy speaker series and astrophotography workshops.

The Northeastern University Chapter of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, SEDS, is a student group of over 200 members at Northeastern which offers students the opportunity to conduct capstone level research and design before their senior year. SEDS is made up of 6 projects:
- NU RASC-AL: team that develops a yearly proposal for the NASA RASC-AL competition
- NURover: iterates upon a rover to compete in URC (University Rover Challenge) & CIRC (Canadian International Rover Challenge)
- NU SUITS: develops an AR (Augmented Reality) system for Astronauts to compete in the NASA SUITS competition
- NU Lunabotics: develops a lunar mining robot to compete in the NASA Lunabotics competition
- NU Astronomy: hosts on- and off-campus astronomy events and works on astronomy-based research projects
- NEST: research team that develops a toolkit for a networked swarm of lunar snake robots
